Fourth Amendment
July 9, 2008: The Senate passed the new FISA Bill, 69-28 (?). The entire Democratic leadership was against it- but Obama voted for it.
This bill retroactively gives immunity to mafioso structures like AT&T for assisting the feds-NSA with their warrant-less wiretapping of Americans. This bill is illegal - the word 'warrant-less' should be the tip-off...
The Fourth Amendment has been eviscerated- The Prez, and lower underlings, can order surveillance of American citizens without any Judicial oversight. Corporations collude, so they can receive big buck contracts- most of the intelligence gathering done today has been outsourced to private firms. But this trend has been going on for decades.... Under the Patriot Act, the sneak and peak provision allows spooks to physically snoop in your home without your knowledge....but Clinton and Remo, er Reno, were doing this in the 1990's.
(When asked to, Telecommunication firm Qwest flatly refused to put Americans under surveillance, as they knew it was illegal. AT&T thinks a permission slip, or directive, from the White House makes everything alright, but it doesn't. Bush and company are committing numerous felonies, and every legal scholar in the land knows it. The secret rooms that AT&T allows the NSA to use to divert signals and eavesdrop on us are operational...A revival of the Total Information Awareness program within Homeland Security seems a fait acompli . Very soon, every new born babies DNA will be collected by the police. Every phone call, fax, credit purchase, email, web site and page browsed, letter, and association, will be known, or is known already, by the spooks. I assumed this 18 years ago...How does it feel to have your Americaness ripped away from you? What are you going to do about it, you shameless weak-kneed slime?
J. Edgar Hoover would often place Congressmen in compromising situations, then his agents would snap pictures. If at a later date, that Congressman tried to push legislation that Hoover or his allies disapproved of, Hoover would inform the Congressman that he had the goods on him and it would be a shame if the public ever found out-only Hoover made it sound like it was the Mob that had the info. The Congressman would back down and shut up and obey. The blackmail almost always involved illegal sex acts.
Most Federal Judges are similarly compromised. Rebellion at the top is an impossibility.
