Out to lunch

A court has ruled that anyone using an alias online has probably committed a breach of 'terms of service'...and thus is guilty of 'hacking' under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act...which is a felony punishable by five years in prison, for each instance of use. The case in question involved MySpace, and a woman named Lori Drew. She signed up using a fake name, and now she is a convicted felon, for violating a websites terms for service. The implications are chilling- most bloggers and forum and chat room users utilize made- up names. This court ruling has potentially criminalized over one hundred million citizens.
