Nubians overran Egypt around 750 BC, and started building Pyramids south toward their capitol, Meroe. The Nubians built over 220 pyramids, twice as many as the Egyptians. These are slender, steeper angled burial tombs, and had religious significance.

A 19th century Italian adventurer named Ferlini knocked the tips off of 40 of the Nubian pyramids, looking for treasure.
