I'm so glad Ireland rejected the Lisbon treaty.

My objections to greater European unity are many...1. Democratic accountability tends to end at the level of the nation-state...the creation of a super-state would be overly bureaucratic and inefficient...2. National identity would be diluted...the patchwork mosiac of Europe would lose some of it's distinct features, which is happening anyway...The European Union is a bogus concept, hoisted upon the passive and ignorant masses by unseen bankers and their agents.
