Well, the problem with the "Church" in whatever form that institution comes has to do with its adherence to "tradition." It is one of the last establishments that changes to accomodate a different population with different spiritual needs as the world around them changes, as we become more aware and accepting as a society. As a result, people find themselves lost and having to "create" their own faith, which truly is the most adventurous step any person can individually take.
